Zaporizhzhya State Medical University is a modern studying center, which has the highest (IV) accreditation level. This university is one of the oldest institutions of higher medical education in Ukraine. The university was established in 1903. Nowadays ZSMU is a new type of progressive multidisciplinary institution of higher education in medicine and pharmacy for bachelors, masters.

For the high level of tutors, the university is ranked in the top three Ukrainian medical universities: it is presented by 720 teachers, including 122 professors and 440 candidates of sciences. The total number of teachers with scientific degrees is greater than 86.3%. At many departments, their total number has reached 100%.

The University has the possibility of carrying out their individual researches. There is the center of correction of cerebral circulation, the central research laboratory and others, where young specialists increase their skills and knowledge and master new technologies. These centers work in close cooperation with various national and international research centers. Stable international scientific and business cooperation carried out over many years has created a high reputation of the university abroad. Achievements of the university scientists have allowed to establish long-term working contacts with scientific centers and leading clinics of Germany, Russia, France, USA, Poland, Bulgaria, Hungary, Austria, Canada and other countries. The results of the university staff research have formed the basis of monographs established in the relevant departments of the university. For grant TEMPUS IV University carries out international program “Creation of interregional network of national centers of medical education, problem-oriented learning and virtual patients”, performs contracts in the education sphere with Kirov State Medical Academy, Marat Ospanov Kazakh State University, Andizhan State Medical Institute (Uzbekistan), Akaki Tsereteli State University (Georgia), David Tvildiani University (Georgia), Wroclaw Medical University (Poland), Palacky University (Czech Republic), University of Nicosia (Cyprus).

Accreditation & Licensing

Zaporizhzhia State Medical University is a self-governing, modern, multi-profile higher educational institution accredited in compliance with the decision of State Certification Commission (Certificate Series Ð Ð” No.088105 of 14.10.2009) with the status of higher education establishment of Ð†V (fourth) level. License of the Ministry of Higher Education and Science of Ukraine Series AE â„– 270975 of 12.08.2013 certifies the right of Zaporozhye State Medical University to perform T&E activity (concerning foreign citizens also). It is one of the oldest medical higher educational institutions in the system of medical education of Ukraine
